PIXMA TR8520 ink cartridge wont print

After cleaning the printer head and printing a nozzle pattern and replacing both black ink cartridges. The printer still does not print "black".  The nozzle check pattern does print the colored lines but no check pattern at time.  Please advise as to what this might be.  

Would a new Printer Head be a solution? a new Printer?

Hi Dmarie,

Please open the cover to your PIXMA TR8520 and remove the PGBK ink tank.  Please verify that all of the tape/cellophane has been removed from the ink tank and then reinsert the ink tank back into your PIXMA TR8520 and close the cover.

Please attempt to print.  If black is still missing, please perform 2 deep cleanings:

1.  Please tap the gear at the bottom of the display of your PIXMA TR8520.

2.  Tap Maintenance.

3.  Tap Deep Cleaning.

4.  Tap Yes.

After 2 cleanings, if black still does not print, your PIXMA TR8520 would require service.  If your PIXMA TR8520 was purchased less than a year ago, please contact one of Canon's Technical Support Representatives via phone or chat to obtain your in warranty options.
