Thanks, based on this fine advice, although I can't think of any event to cause a printhead failure,       I suspect it did fail and I have replaced that printer of another which uses the same ink. That saves me throwing out good ink and purchasing new ink, when I have plenlty of corresponding ink on hand.

What you did is for the best, possibly a print head component, like a driver chip may have failed.
