PIXMA MX882 - printer will not turn-on has yellow triangle error light on

Canon PIXMA MX882 printer will not turn-on has yellow error light on.

Customer service will no longer accept calls about this printer. This unit worked well over past several years, only requiring ink changes.

• I Unplugged the Pixma than plugged directly into power socket several times, yellow light persists. 
• Power button when pressed will not turn on the printer.
• Stop button pressed numerious times simultaniously with power does not reset.
• Took all ink cartridges out and replaced, no difference - yelow light on triangle persists.
• Ink cartridge holder use to move when cover was lifted but no longer.
• Took out all paper and replaced in tray, yellow light persists.
• The only way to turn off the yellow light is to remove plug from wall.

Based on your description of the issue, it would appear that your PIXMA MX882 would require service.  You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.

I've been having the exact same issue!  How do I remove the yellow triangle light so I can start using my printer once again?

Hi, hairtek!  This thread began in 2021 and since then, we've retired the PIXMA MX882. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers direct support for it, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions.
