I bought my printer through Amazon and it's also out of warranty. I may just try to do what you just did. I've tried the manual, emailing canon, Youtube and other ways. Nothing has come up yet so, I'll try taking out the print heads and see what happens...

I think I have stumbled upon a fix for this:

Turn the printer off for 5 minutes. With the printer OFF, hit the print command and you will get a promt that says you printer is off line and do you want to resume? Hit Resume and THEN turn on your printer, and it should print!

Whatever caused this irritating problem seems to have gone away - at least for now....

Hi I have a cannon printer mx850 with error code B200

I cannot acess the ink cartridge to check on or replace.

Read other blog answers here but not finding the help I need.

please advise.

I have a Canon Pixma iP4300. I received the B200 eror code just after I had put in some new cartridges. The problem was how to take out the cartridges as the carriage wouldn't move to an accessible position.

I solved this by getting a soldering iron and melting a hole in the plastic top cover. Ugly but better than junking the printer. With the cartridges removed I still get the error message. **bleep**. Will keep trying.

How do I release the print head carriage so that I can replace the ink tanks and access the print head?  It is locked in it's parked position.

Thank you!

I have this in Pixma MG5220.

I cleaned the print heads and the "parking area". To no avail.

A new printhead is $90 and not sure that it will solve the problem and not returnable.

I'm buying an Epson Expression Premium XP 830 for $130. And it's also cheaper on ink maintenance than the Pixmas according to Consumer Report.

Please. My mx850 does not have a HOME button. What button are you really referring to???

Do a web search  by typing in the following: Workaround for B200 Error on Canon Printers .  Then find the one that directs you to Tomshardware dot com (the web address is aways under the title and descriptionof the websearch findings.  Flying-Q has found a fix and posted it there.  I've needed to use several times when I get the B200 error and it works great!

I am also thinking that one of the reasons I may be getting this error is because when my Canon output tray opens, it often hits my computer chair making the tray impossible to fully open.  I then move my chair out of the way, but wonder if that happening repeatedly over time could have set the error in the printer.  Well, I guess I'll find out now that I have relocated the printer so this will not happen.  If I continue to get the B200 error, I will know tht was not the cause.  But do go to that website for the fix

The Home button is the one under the round thing with the ok in the middle. The one that looks like an arrow reverting on itself and pointing to a little dot.

Hello:

The Ink tanks are all to the right and not accessible.  I unplugged the power cord, waited the 30 minutes.  Checked that there were no paper jams. Plugged the power cord back in. The ink cartridges still were not accessible.  I pulled the ink cartridge carriage to the right to make it accessible. It slid without resistance very smoothly to center. I removed the cartridges, pulled and replaced the head. Replaced the cartridges. Shut it off. restarted it , same Error code.  What to do next?
