I have a Canon Pixma MX492 with the same problem. I am able to print, but scanning has suddenly stopped working. I am using MAC OS Monterrey 12.1. I don't recall updating my OS recently, but it's possible that I did a small update.
I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling the print driver, but that didn't solve the issue. I also disabled IPv6 on the printer (on the MX492 the IPv6 setting is Active/Inactive), but setting it to inactive did not fix the issue.
Any other suggestions?

Hi MarkusM,
Please follow these steps:
1. Click on the magnifying glass in the upper right hand corner of your computer's display.
2. Type IMAGE CAPTURE in the search box and then open that application.
Does your PIXMA MX472 appear in Image Capture?
Are you able to scan using Image Capture?

Hi Patrick and John,
I was able to resolve my problem by setting IPv6 to "Inactive" on my MX492 and then rebooting my router. I'm not sure if the IPv6 setting or the reboot fixed my problem. It was probably a combination of the two.
Thanks, Mark
