PIXMA MX490 error code 6901

My MX490 Printer shows error code 6901 on LCD screen also power (green) & caution (orange) lights are flashing after hearing 3 beeps upon start up. Just bought printer used and trying to set it up wirelessly to HP Envy x360 laptop on windows 10 64bit OS. I'm somewhat of a hitchhiker on the info Hwy. Can someone pick me up? Thanks'

Please follow the steps on this page to clear the 6901 error on your PIXMA MX490:

If the 6901 error persists, your PIXMA MX490 would require service.  You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.
