PIXMA MG8220 not recognizable

I will first admit that I am not the most computer savvy BUT have for years been using this printer with my Macbook Pro, OS mojave 10.14.6 with minor, intermittent problems. The connectivity issues usually solved by restarting computer and printer, or in worst case scenario deleting, then adding printer.

The most recent issue is making me crazy and I have now spent hours trying to do everything under the sun to get my computer to talk to my printer, NOTHING has worked.

I have unplugged printer and modem, restarted computer and printer a million times, reset LAN settings on printer.

The wifi indicator on printer is ON, my computer is connected to the same network which I am certain of because I printed out the LAN details.

If I try to add a printer no printer appears. I finally resorted to adding the IP address from the printed network configuration page so now that printer appears but I CAN NOT PRINT.

I am losing my mind, tried calling Canon support but my printer is old so I am not able to speak to anyone.

HELP!

Hi, newfdoc!

So that the Community can help you better, we need to know exactly which operating system is running on your computer (i.e. Windows or Mac OS, and which version thereof). That, and any other details you'd like to give will help the Community better understand your issue!

If this is a time-sensitive matter, click HERE search our knowledge base or find additional support options HERE.

Thanks and have a great day!

I included that in my original post 🙂
