MG8220 drivers

I have a Canon Pixma MG8220 printer which works beautifully, if only I could connect it to my macbook. I'm running OS Monterey for whatever it's worth... I can connect it wirelessly or with the USB cord, BUT NO DRIVER is available.  Are there really no drivers for this perfectly fine printer? HELP!

Greetings,

The 8220 is over 11 yrs old now.  Indeed it has been retired.  Canon does offer an upgrade program for those devices which have been retired or are EoL.  A sales representative can help you pick out a new device at a discount and offer free shipping.  If interested, let us know and we can provided details.

Is there a way to print through AirPrint? Can I update the printer to work with AirPrint? Thanks for your reply about an upgrade, but I am a teacher - hence I can't  afford a new printer... It seems such a  complete waste (and e-waste) to have to throw a perfectly fine machine out. I also have a big cardboard box full of ink for this printer.

The printer can be connected to a MAC running Ventura as an IP printer.  Without drivers however, printing options and controls will be limited.
