PIXMA MG5320 support code 1001printer can't find disc tray

Had all ready printed 2 discs using Easy-PhotoPrint EX on the third disc printer stopped finding the disc tray, all settings the same. Tried rebooting the printer and restarting the print job twice to no avail.

Have had this problem periodicatly for a while, but setting the tray slightly deeper, about 1/8 inch, would cure it. Now it won't take it no matter where it is positioned. When tray is set and OK selected printer pulls tray in about 3/4 inch than pushes it back out about 3/4 inch past mark and showes error msg.

Have owned this printer about 3 years and have printed probably 50 discs with it. the tray is clean and straight (keep it in file cabinet when not useing).

Is there a way to clean the sensor that scans the multi-purpose tray?

I need this thing printing ASAP.
