PIXMA MG2922 Solid Orange Alarm Light

TheRealSpinner

I purchased a Canon PIXMA MG2922 printer as a backup.  Never been opened. Never been taken out of the Canon PIXMA MG2922 box.  Never been used.  Just sat up in a closet.

One of my trusted printers failed to operate so I decided to open my Canon PIXMA MG2922 backup.

The printer will not initialize.

Everything is checked out paper, ink cartridges, door closed, unpacked properly, and made sure all of the packing tape and plastic pieces were removed.

When I plug the printer power cord into the wall outlet (various outlets),  the only thing that happens is the Alarm light is solid orange.  That's it.  The printer should be making noise (loud) according to videos.

When you push the power button, the power light is solid green and the alarm light is solid orange.

I have tried numerous methods of resetting this printer and everyone has failed.

I know it's an inexpensive printer but, Canon come on.  How about some Quality Control.

Thanks for any help.

Since I have received NO HELP regarding this subject, I have decided to throw out the BRAND NEW Canon PIXMA MG2922.  This was a waste of money and time.

I am unable to determine the cause especially with it never been used.  I was thinking about purchasing a working used Canon PIXMA MG2922 and swapping out the circuit board and / or ribbon cables but, why bother.

Canon, I will never purchase one of your products again.

I hope someone reads this message and stays away from Canon printers.

I, too, am having the same issue with the Canon Pixma MG2922… the solid amber light turns on when the power cord is plugged in and the solid green light joins the solid amber light upon turning on the printer.  I’m using both a iPhone SE 2020 using Software Version 15.2.1 and iPad Air A2588 using iPad OS Version 18.7.2.   I bought this almost new, hardly used Canon Pixma MG2922 secondhand from another person.  Please guide me as to what I should do.  Thanks!

Paper Jam

  • Check for Jammed Paper: Open the printer cover and inspect for any paper that may be stuck inside. Remove any jammed paper carefully to avoid damaging the printer.
  • Reload Paper: Ensure that the paper tray is loaded correctly with properly aligned sheets.

Ink Cartridge Issues

  • Check Cartridge Installation: Make sure the ink cartridges are installed correctly. Remove and reinstall them to ensure they are seated properly.
  • Check Ink Levels: If the cartridges are low on ink, replace them with new ones.

Troubleshooting Steps

  1. Inspect for Paper Jams: Open the printer and look for any stuck paper.
  2. Reinstall Ink Cartridges: Remove the cartridges and reinstall them securely.
  3. Reset the Printer: Turn off the printer, hold the Stop button, then press and hold the Power button. Release both buttons when the green light is steady, then press Stop four times.

If these steps do not resolve the issue, consider reaching out to Canon Support for further assistance.
