PIXMA MG2522 "Ink Absorber Almost Full" Message

Today, for the first time ever, when initiating a print job, the printer status window informed me that "the ink absorber is almost full". I had to press the START button to continue with the printing task. Is this anything to worry about? Will the printer soon crash?

The printer will not "crash", but eventually you will no longer be able to bypass the "almost full" notification by pressing the start button to print.

Service will be required. To put things in perspective.  The cost to package and ship the printer and return to Canon + the service to replace the pad will exceed the value of the device.  Unless you live near a Canon service center and can drop it off yourself, you will be better off replacing it.  You can buy a new one at Walmart today for under $40.  I don't know how old yours might be, but unfortunately, this particular model is what I consider a "throw away".  What I would do, eWaste it responsibly.

I don't know where you can buy a Canon Pixma MG2522 for 40 dollars. Please tell me. $40.00 is what I paid for it 10 years ago, but I was just checking prices online and Walmar is now $300.00 and Amazon is $250.00. BTW my "ink absorber is almost" reminder is on too and I cannot get around it.

This thread is 4 yrs old.  Best Buy was selling this model for $34.99 at that time.....  it has since been discontinued.  

I suggest you contact the Canon Upgrade Program sales team for a replacement device which can be had at a small discount with free shipping.

Canon TR4720 is a good replacement and it is on sale at the moment for 69.00 dollars from Amazon and Canon.  MG3620 is also a good printer (I have one) which I bought when Amazon had a closeout sale for 39.00 new. Now it is available from Canon for 87.00 dollars.
