Are you speaking to a PIXMA MG2522 printer?
If so, I don't see anything on 7 flashes, but other quantities such as 8 on page 181 in the User Manual.
Also, do you see any error code on the display? That will help you understand what the fault is (consult that table on page 181)

On a Canon PIXMA MG2522, 7 orange flashes almost always signal one of two specific issues depending on how the lights are behaving.
Cause: Ink Cartridge Installation Error (Support Code 1486/1487) The printer thinks one or both of your cartridges aren't in the right spot or aren't fully locked in.
The Fix:
Open the front cover to let the cartridges move to the center.
Push up on both the Black and Color cartridges until you feel/hear a firm click.
If that doesn't work, remove both, check for any remaining orange protective tape on the bottom, and snap them back in.
