PIXMA MG2220 Support Question

Don_Charleston

bought a new computer; it won't support my Canon printer. Chatted on line with Canon person and was referred to Microtron Technologies for support.  I was uncomfortable allowing them control of my computer; are they an authorized Canon support company, or is this a scam to gain access to my computer and install spyware?

Thanks for letting us know what Canon product you've got. We can fully understand your concern, and we want you to know that the PIXMA MG2220 is an older model which we have retired. While that means that Canon USA no longer offers technical support for it directly or through any third parties, your friends here in the Canon Community are welcome to offer suggestions!

You can also speak with a Canon Upgrade Program specialist to help you score a modern replacement that would meet your current needs at a discount. You can reach them weekdays and Saturdays at 1-866-443-8002.

Hope this helps!

Is Microtron Technologies an authorized Canon Vendor for Technical support? That's my question!

If your printer were still within its support life, that support would come exclusively from our expert technicians here at Canon USA.  We would not refer you to any other companies for support on PIXMA printers, and with the printer being past its support life, the Canon Upgrade Program is the only option we can offer for it. Glad we could clear that up!

Can't you answer with a YES or NO; Is Microtron Technologies an authorized Canon Vendor for Technical support? That's my "Yes or No" question

"We would not refer you to any other companies for support on PIXMA printers," sounds like the answer is "No"!

How did you get to the "Canon person" you chatted with?
