PIXMA G7020 copy function does not work?

when i try to do a copy, my g7020 just creates a blank sheet of paper?

nothing is copied when i do a copy on my Pixma G7020 printer [i.e.] the results are a blank 8-1/2 x 11 sheet of paper. what must i do to fix the problem? please advise.
