I'm looking at the PIXMA G4270 printer, but the user-replacable print heads (BH-20 for b&w and CH-20 for color) are on backorder.
Also unfortunate is you can only get those specific print heads directly from Canon (e.g. B&H or other authorized dealers will not be carrying these parts).
Just how long do the print heads typically last? We print very low volume. Only around 20 to 30 pages per month.
If the print heads have to be replaced often though, then this particular printer will then be more expensive to maintain than a regular inkjet (since one would need to purchase both print heads and the separate ink).

No longer personally need an answer to this as I opted to get one of Canon's color laser printers instead of their megatank printers.
