PIXMA G3590 Disappointed with colour quality

LesleyBD
Contributor

I have just bought  this printer to use with my iMac. I am disappointed in the print quality. My previous printer a Pixma 4700 had various cplour options avaiable like Vivid and Natural. This new printer has no such options. I could also make 'presets' with combintions of settings I used ferquently. This doesn't seem to be possible in the new printer options. Can someone please advise how to get high quality printing from this printer?

Welcome to the Canon Community, and thank you for your post!

Your product is not sold or supported by Canon USA.

That being said, it sounds like you may be using the AirPrint (built-in) drivers instead of the Canon drivers. We recommend installing the Canon software and drivers so that your Mac can take advantage of the full feature set of your printer. You can get the software from https://ij.start.canon/G3590

Thank you. There don’t appear to be proper print drivers for this model for my Mac. Air Print is the only option. 😕

Did you tap the link I put in the message above, where it says to get the software, because it takes you to where you need to be to download the software with no guessing. You should tap that link on your iMac, and it walks you through setting up the software. If you need additional help, you will need to contact Canon in your country.

The link itself will not directly take you to any downloadable software, with a bit of a hunt it will take you to the Microsoft store where you can download Canon Print app, but there are no drivers for Windows  or Mac anywhere that I could find for any country.

DOWNLOAD THE SOFTWARE FROM THE LINK I POSTED IT INCLUDES EVERYTHING YOU NEED

https://ij.start.canon/G3590

The current app includes the drivers for Windows 11 and macOS.

Thank you. I did go to that page but it only supplies the AirPrint driver. If you click on operating system then select any of the Mac OS’s it either says Not Supported or it tells you it’ll print through AirPrint.
