Hi, I need some help. I cannot find or locate the ethernet connection on the back of this printer.

There is a USB "U" shaped port there at the back left side. Under that is the power

cord plug in. Thats all I can find. How do I plug in an ethernet cable?

Most any router should be fine. It just needs to work on the 2.4Ghz band (that's really common).

Do you have a home network? How do your computers connect to the outside world (Internet)? Does your Internet Service Provider supply network gear, or do you have just one computer connected to a cable modem?

You seem need some local help with a setup to connect more than one network device to a local network. This requires a home router with that provides connectability for multiple devices, wired  Ethernet  and wi-fi (which IS Ethernet too).

Thanks guys, I leaped into the future with the router. it worked!!!

 I am now wireless.

Hi, I hope you can assist me. I have a new PIXMA G3270 printer I wish to connect to my Airport Extreme via a USB A to B cord. It is the same cord as was used with the previous PIXMA printer that died (would no longer turn on). I can get through all the steps until connection and it will not print. All computers recognize the printer is there but nothing.

CANON support has been ZERO help. Says can only connect directly to a computer. Uh, Macbooks and iPads etc do not have ports to connect printers and our Wi-Fi is sketchy at best.

Please advise. Obviously, following the steps for set up, the printer is already fully loaded with ink and unable to return it. Thank you, kindly

What? This is what I am trying to get to work and replied to his comment. How is that “off track”?

I take it you want to place the printer far from your PC so a USB cable may not work? Your pc should have wireless capabilty and you should get a dual band router 2.5 and 5GHZ. I suggest this one. I am very fimiliar with TP-Link I used their products which I owned a computer networking company. It is available on Amazon at a good price.
