Osx 10.11.6 Canon Pro 9500MK2 printer is not recognized. What am I doing wrong?

If you are in Printers & Scanners in System Preferences and clicking the "+" symbol to add a printer doesn't work then I suggest you call Canon at 1-800-OK-CANON.
