New Pixma TR8620 prints veeeeeery slowly

Just set up new printer today. Prints unbelievably slowly.  Gets the print order just fine (ie wi-fi is working) but then takes its time to print, especially if printing two sided -- takes a break in the middle of the print job

Is it supposed to be this way? Can anyone help?

What is your “slow”?  How many seconds to print a reasonably full page of text?

Two sided printing requires some page manipulation by the printer. There is only one print head and the print side needs to be facing up.

Single sided takes 10 seconds per page. Double sided takes 40 seconds

I just printed a two-page double-sided document. Took one minute 10 seconds. Is that normal? I have never had this problem with a printer

Is it fixable?
