Need help overriding paper size on a TS6400

Bugbear

I have a Canon TS6400 and I'm using an iMac. I'm trying to print on paper that's close to 5x7 but slightly smaller. I get a 2114 message, meaning it won't print because it says the paper is the wrong size. I tried to follow instructions for overriding paper size on a Mac, but I had to stop when I reached the Remote UI, which requires a password. I don't know what password it wants. Can anyone help with next steps?

Hi Bugbear,

Please try these steps:

1.  Press the OK button on your PIXMA TS6420 one time.

2.  Press the down arrow 4 times to select "Feed settings" and press OK.

3.  Press the down arrow 2 times to select "Detect paper width" and press OK.

4.  Use the down arrow to select Disable and press OK.

5.  Use the down arrow to select "Disable paper setting mismatch" and press OK.

6.  Use the down arrow to select Disable and press OK.

Once set, please attempt to print.

Replying to myself: The password is the serial number, and that worked. I was able to override the setting as directed. Yay! But the printer still wants me to change the way the paper is loaded somehow. Possibly the type of paper is problem (card stock with deckle edge).
