Recently, my Canon PIXMA MX479 appears to be washed out when scanning pictures, It looks whiter than usual on the preview scan, and I don't know what's the issue It never happened before. I would appreciate if someone would help me out here. Thanks.

You can scan photos placed on the platen with settings suitable for photos. Place the photo on the platen. Start IJ Scan Utility. Click Settings..., select the Settings (Photo Scan) dialog, then set the paper size, resolution, etc.

Yeah that didn't work, my images still look whiter than usual. it's not actually photo images, but drawings, but you get the idea.

What version of Windows are you using?
If you are using a Mac, what version of OSX is installed?
Are you using your PIXMA MX479 wirelessly?
Or with a USB cable?
