Mx492 loads paper then pulls back and loads again

Frustratedcust

I have a MX492 that I can not get to print. When it starts to print,  it loads a piece of paper, then pulls it back in a bit then pushes it out and loads another piece of paper. Never actually printing anything but then causing a paper jam. There is never an actual paper jam. I have been fighting this for 5 hours and only have printed 2 pages out of 49. I have done factory resets, I have powered off, unplugged it, uninstalled from the computer and re installed. I have tried printing from my phone and computer. Even restarting my computer. I have tried wireless connection and USB connection.  I have checked all paper setting on the printer, the phone app and the computer and all say 8.5" x11".  I can NOT get it to print and I am ready to throw it thru the window. Please help me!!

Hi,

Please use the steps HERE to perform a roller cleaning. If the roller cleaning does not resolve the issue, the printer would require service.

If the printer is in it's 1 year warranty, I recommend reaching out to Canon support for your warranty options. You will need to register your Canon gear HERE to access additional support options.

If the printer is out of warranty, you would qualify for the Canon Upgrade program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service or are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This program allows you the opportunity to purchase a replacement product discounted from the list price. Free ground shipping is included with your purchase.

If you would like to take advantage of this offer, please call our Sales Department at (866) 443-8002 Mon-Sat, 9 AM to 9pm EST excluding holidays.
