Multifunction 560/530 Scanning

Mike78
Apprentice

I can't get the MF Tool box to acquire the scanner function.   "A supported scanner is not installed."

I want to be able to start scans from my PC so that I can see/choose where they are being saved. Can canon software keep track of all scanned documents?

Hi Mike78.

I will be glad to assist you.

Please note that a scanning option must be selected at the D530 first, before opening the MF Toolbox software.  Please follow the instructions below to perform a scan:

1. Place documents.

NOTE
When scanning from the platen glass:
  • You can scan multiple documents only when
- [Save as Type] is set to [PDF (Multiple Pages)].
- [Paper Size] in the step 6 is set to "fit the image."

 2. Display the Scan mode screen.

     ForD560/D530
Press [ ] (COPY/SCAN) to switch to the Scan mode screen.

 3. Press [ ] or [ ] to highlight <Remote Scanner>, and then press [OK].
The machine is now waiting to be scanned.

 4. Double-click the [Canon MF Toolbox 4.9] icon on the desktop.
     The MF Toolbox starts.

 5. Click an applicable MF Toolbox button.

[Mail]The document will be scanned and attached to an e-mail message in your e-mail application.
[OCR]The document will be scanned and read by the OCR software.
[Save]The document will be scanned and saved.
[PDF]The document will be scanned and saved as a PDF file.
[Color Scan]
[B&W Scan]
[Custom 1]
[Custom 2]
The document will be scanned and displayed in the registered application. A dialog box appears for each of the buttons.

 6. Specify the scanner settings as needed.

     Clicking [Apply] saves the settings.
For details, see the "e-Manual" (HTML manual) in the CD-ROM supplied with the machine.

 7. Click [Start].
     Scanning starts.

I hope this information is helpful to you.  Should you need further assistance, please contact us at 1-800-OK-CANON (1-800-652-2666).
