MX922 Won't Power On/Suggestions for Replacement

I have previously posted that my Pixma MX922 would not power up.  I tried all of the suggestions that I got about holding the power button down for 30 seconds and then unplugging the unit.  Nothing worked.  I purchased a new power unit and it would power up but I kept getting error messages all of a sudden that the print head was not the correct one.  Now it won't power up again.  I'm done trying and am moving on.  The problem is that I had just bought a brand new set of ink cartridges, 250 and 251 that are still new in the box.  I was hoping to find a Canon replacement printer/scanner that would use those same cartridges, but so far no luck.  One suggestion is the Pixma TR8620a.  Does anyone have experience with this printer and what is the print quality?  Also, am I just out of luck with this brand new box of cartridges?  Thanks in advance for any advice or suggestions.

I have a Pixma MG5420, which uses 250 and 251 cartridges. I'm sure there are other models that do. You can try to find a used printer.
