MX922 Printer - copy and scan function do not work

Have had MX922 Printer for about 3 yrs; now I can print from computer but the copy and scan function only works with a large black vertical box (about 3" wide) printed on the page

 

Have gone through all troubleshooting tips - cleaning and deep cleaning print heads, alignment OK, cleaned the timing strip, turned off and unplugged printer for 5 mins before turning on again multiple times.  Also uninstalled and re-installed printer driver.

 

Get printer code error 5011 which was found with instructions to turn off, unplug printer, etc.

 

Get scanner code error 2,250,4   - cannot find a reference list for scanner code errors

 

Anyone have any other ideas, cannot really afford to buy another printer right now.

Hi bullwinkle,

 

When you scan or copy, are you using the docoument feeder or placing the original face down on the scan glass?

 

Does the 5011 error clear?  If it does not, your PIXMA MX922 would require service.  You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.
