I have an mx479 printer and this thing has been garbage since I got it. I used to print only using a black cartridge with no color installed and today I went to do that. Now it's telling me to check the color ink because it is empty after I removed it. It has completely locked me out to the point where I can't even hold the stop button for 10 seconds to reset it..Any way around this other than the satisfaction of taking a baseball bat to this garbage piece of canon equipment? It gives me error 1401 with it off which locks it out then when I put it back inside it now says volume unknown when it is on the way to be empty
