MX452 can't set fit-to-page

I have a Pixma MX452, using WinXP. I've installed the driver cd supplied with the printer. I'm unable to set the printer to fit-to-page. If I have a full page, the printer frequently over fills the page even though I click the fill-to-page setting. Is there a better driver? Any suggestions?

While this is likely caused by the settings within your printing application, to ensure that you are using the most up to date drivers, please check the driver download page for your PIXMA MX452.
