My old Mac died and had to buy a new one (macOS Catalina 10.15.4). Now I find out the MP560 does not support the Catalina system. Can I work around the MP Navigator by setting the printer/scanner with an IP setup? Or am I able to print documents from a USB thumbdrive?
Otherwise I am screwed and forced to purchase a new printer when my MP560 is working perfectly fine.

Hi MyrtleUser,
Since the printer is not supported in Catalina, you can try adding the printer back on using Apples printer driver. You would need to go to printers and scanners and click the + button. Since there are no drivers, I cant promise the printer would be detected or if it would work with Apples printer driver. Other than there are no other work around that I can recommend.
If the printer is not detected, you qualify for the Canon Upgrade program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service or are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This program allows you the opportunity to purchase a replacement product discounted from the list price. Free ground shipping is included with your purchase.
If you would like to take advantage of this offer, please call our Sales Department at (866) 443-8002 mon-Sat, 9 AM to 9pm EST. Let them know you have been working with technical support and that the Canon Upgrade Program was offered.
