MG6851 tells me (sometimes having printed) there is no paper

This happens when there is a quite reasonable pile in the feed, and sheets have already been processed.

It's easily cleared by pulling out the feeder and pushing it sharply back in; not a great chore, but irritating.

 

Ideas why it happens?
