MG5220 won't scan!!

My MG5220 has stopped scanning!! What to do?

"Full disclosure?"  My Pixma MG5220 WAS indeed scanning impeccably -- until I "upgraded" the Operating System on my iMac desktop computer.  THAT'S when it all went KA-BLOO-EY!!  (Well, maybe "kablooey" is a bit too harsh a term to use here, since the multifunction machine DOES still print just fine, and copies swell, too!  BUT NO SCANNING!!  O, woe is me!

I had a problem with Easy Web Print EX and hadn't made any changes at all. Just for the heck of it I tried downloading the drivers again...and it worked. Everything worked good, then all of a sudden didn't. I spent half of a day experimenting and finally tried the driver deal. I wish that I would have tried that first.
