MG5220 Won't Scan on Windows 7 (x64) machine

MG5220 USB connected will not scan, even with MP Navigator launched manually.  Seems functionality died after performing Windows 7 (x64) OS updates.  MAC OS can scan just fine through USB.  Performed Win7 OS updates 11Jun2014.

Mine will also no longer scan.  It is connected wirelessly.  When I press scan start button on printer, message says "Set the  PC to start scanning"  Clicking on Canon IJ Network Utilities on PC, then Canon IJ Network Scan Utilitiy does nothing.

This was resolved after the latest round of MS updates.  Windows must have put out a fix.

I can never scan wirelessly.  I ALWAYS have to use a USB cable.

I had to install MP Navigator to scan wirelessly.
