HiI have been using the scanner with no problem for several months with no issues. I have scanned photos and PDFs. I have created multi-page PDF documents.
Now my printer will not scan items using the Auto setting, or the Document setting. I can still scan using the Photo setting, so I know tha tthe scanner IS connected even though the message says that the scanner is either turned off or not connected to LAN.
Can anyone offer any advice? I have rebooted the PC and also turned the Printer off and on again.

Hi ROSYJAY,
Please try these steps:
1. Place your documnet that you wish to scan on your PIXMA MG4220.
2. Open the IJ Scan Utility.
3. Click the Settings... button in the lower right hand corner.
4. Click Document Scan on the left hand side of the Settings window.
5. Place a checkmark next to "Check scan results".
6. Click OK. This will return you to the main screen of the IJ Scan Utility.
7. Click the DOCUMENT button on the IJ Scan Utility.
8. Scanning will start and once complete, the Save Settings dialog box will appear.
9. Every page of the document will be in the preview section at the top. If they are in the incorrect order, you can drag and drop them in the correct order. If one is upside down, click on it and then click the arrow button in the upper right hand corner to rotate it.
10. Give the scan a unique name, entered in the "File Name" box.
11. In the "Save In" box, select the folder you with to save the PDF.
12. Make sure that the file is being saved as PDF.
13. Click OK.
Your PDF will be saved in the folder specified.
