Images that are surrounded by white space are printing with a black box around them. It is using up my black ink and ruining my print-outs. This is happening even when I try different files.

So that the Community can help you better, we need to know exactly which operating system is running on your computer (i.e. Windows or Mac OS, and which version thereof) and which app(s) you're printing from. I'm using Mac OS 10.14.5
I am printing PDFs from the Preview app.

Hi amaniah,
Please try using Adobe Acrobat Reader to print your PDFs instead of Preview.
It is available for free from Adobe's web site:
