MG2440 Can not Scan

When i try to scan i get the following message : Cannot communicate with scanner for these resons: - Scanner is turned off. - USB cableis disconnected.

Please check and try again, Scanner driver wil be closed. Code:2,156,50

But I can Preview the scan ( but do nothing else after the preview) and I can print from the same PC.

Please help, as I have to use the scanner for work.
