I bought my MG2220 all in one, from Goodwill. Everything works, that I can tell so far, except it won't print in color, even though my computer detects a full cartridge. It prints black just fine. I have XP Sp3 on my computer.
I have cleaned the nozzles, did a deep cleaning. Then I found a page, from here, that said to remove cartridges and unplug printer, while turned on and then plug it back in again. After that, the instruction is to reinsert the cartridges again. I checked to see if there was an orange cover on the bottom, but there isn't.
After doing a deep cleaning, I got an error message as follows.
Support Code 5200
A printer error has occurred. Thurn the printer off and then on again. If this doesn't clear the error, the printer needs repair.
I did as instructed and it worked fine then.
Is it possible I just need a new color cartridge?
Something else I noticed is, I keep getting black on my fingers and the attachments, that holds the black cartridge have a little black ink on it.
Is this all in one a lost cause? Should I take it back. I only have until next Thursday. Thanks.
I would really like to keep this printer if at all possible.
