Large Ink Cartridge wont print

Dmarie

Just replaced my large ink cartridge (cannon brand); it will not print the above top row of nozzle "check: page; only the colors. no boxed pattern at top; usually means the large ink is not "firing" after replaceing with new; still will not print.

is this a "head" cleaning issue?

I have run all the cleaning procedures, with no success and yes the roller cleaning as well as the bottom plate cleaning...

any suggestions

thanks D in Colorado Springs

Hi Dmarie,

Please open the cover to your PIXMA TR8520 and remove the PGBK ink tank.  Please verify that all of the tape/cellophane has been removed from the ink tank and then reinsert the ink tank back into your PIXMA TR8520 and close the cover.

Please attempt to print.  If black is still missing, please perform 2 deep cleanings:

1.  Please tap the gear at the bottom of the display of your PIXMA TR8520.

2.  Tap Maintenance.

3.  Tap Deep Cleaning.

4.  Tap Yes.

After 2 cleanings, if black still does not print, your PIXMA TR8520 would require service.  If your PIXMA TR8520 was purchased less than a year ago, please contact one of Canon's Technical Support Representatives via phone or chat to obtain your in warranty options. To contact a Technical Support Representative, please use the link below:

If your PIXMA TR8520 is out of warranty, you are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.

If you would like to take part in this option, please call our Sales Department at (866) 443-8002 Monday through Saturday, 9am to 9pm. Let them know you have been working with technical support and the Canon Upgrade Program was offered.
