I have a pixma G7020 printer and I inadvertently filled the magenta tank with yellow ink. Tech support said they would exchange the printer if it was still under warranty…and it wasn’t. They told me to buy a new printer.
So I purchased a 10” blunt needle with a syringe for $9.00 bucks from amazon. I was able to gently guide the needle down to the bottom of the tank and remove 95% to 98% of the ink. I inserted the needle in the center of the the inkwell port a gently slid it to the bottom. It took three times but I emptied the tank.
i then performed a deep cleaning. Then I created a magenta colored page on word and printed 10 copies to purge any residue yellow ink. Did a nozzle check, and it looked fine. Printer now prints like new

Great fix!
You are not the first one to have this happen and you won't be the last I am sure.
