Just purchased this earlier this month. I realize it's an 'entry-level printer,' but I can't believe that the ink level in the cartridge is this small. Since I installed the printer (installed cartridges, ran set-up, registered with Canon, etc.), I have printed one birthday card in color (but a very low-impact card, ink-wise) and then printed no more than 10 pages of text (set on 'grayscale')---but only partial pages, such as reply letters and such. Printed a letter with 24 lines of text today, and after printing, the "Black Ink" light starts to flash!
I can't believe that this is all the ink included in a cartridge. Yes, it's not an XL cartridge, but still I've never purchased a printer with this limited amount of ink. Is it possible that the cartridge was damaged/dried-out/or? straight out of the box? Are there any 'tricks' to see if the ink light is incorrect? I'd appreciate any comments, thanks!
