Hello.
Check to make sure that the machine is connected to an active land line in your home or office. The phone cord that is coming from your wall jack should be connected to the 'L" jack of the printer.
If you continue to have difficulties, additional troubleshooting will have to be done to narrow down the cause of your issue. A phone agent will be able to send or receive test faxes to ensure that the unit is connected properly.
