When I opened the top (the second one that gives access to ink refills) a white prop came down to hold it up. When I went to close it, I could not release it. I pushed, prodded, pinched, jiggled, lifted the white prop in vain. Finally I ripped it out, fortunately without breaking anything. It is now fully detached and if I have to raise the lid, it will still works though unattached. What gives? My 2 previous Canon printers had simple orange props that released easily. This TR7620a printer is very different from MX ones I had. So, while the lid prop is OK the way it is, I still wondering how does one release the white prop that holds the lid up? # tr7620

I don't know if they are the same, but my TR8620a has a white support when the lid is opened for ink replacement, but it is a friction hold. I just push the lid back down again.

I never thought of forcing it. If I ever get the white thing back in -I had no success the last time I tried a bit- I'll try that. It might be a while. I'll try to come back to this and vote accept as solution if it works.
