How can I make the resolution higher than 600 for scans with Canon's software? i can do it with my iMac's image capture software (I'm running Yosemite), but can't seem to with Canon's software

As I understand that you would like to scan your documents at a higher resolution, (more than 600dpi) on your printer MG7520.
You may used the Canon application called (IJ Scan Utility). You wont find it on your desktop, you may need to use your "Spotlight" function to search for it.
If you have open the application, select "ScanGear" and go to "Advanced Mode". In "Advanced Mode", you may adjust the DPI value to your desire.
If you can't find the "IJ Scan Utility" application, you may download the printer driver that comes with the application.

I don't see an "Advanced Mode" anywhere in the IJ Scan Utility.
