I recently received a REPLACEMENT for my G3272 Pixma Megatank printer. By "recently," I mean ONE. WEEK. AGO. My previous G3272 completely cr•pped out at just around 11 months of usage (approx. 850 pages printed) It's funny, because the reason I got a PIXMA G3270 Wireless MegaTank All-In-One Printer G3272 is because my G3262 stopped working after TEN months and I needed a printer immediately.
Thankfully this time I got into contact with Canon (and thank GOD for online chatting vs over the phone --I don't have time to have a phone glued to my ear!) and after a few minutes, I was asked for my address. I am extremely grateful that the representative sent it next day express because my printer is 100% part of my livelihood. I am a nurse, but I also have a successful small business. Being without a printer is TERRIBLE.
So now, here we are: I've not been printing as much this week, but enough that the print heads should not be dried out, but I am still getting horizontal lines on my COLOR ink when I print out the print head sheet (because I noticed them while printing out my stickers)
Here's what I've done so far:
•Ran 4 cleanings (I read to not exceed 4 in a day)
•Ran the prints
There are still horizontal lines.
I don't want to do a DEEP cleaning yet, because it fills up the maintenance cartridge quickly (It is UNREAL how quickly those things fill up!) So what's the deal here?? Like I said: I've had this new printer a WEEK. All 100% Canon components.
Also, a question:
•When I print out stickers, I use photo-quality on my printer (because they are glossy) I am wondering if, by using this high-quality type of print every time I print, am I making my print heads fail and my maintenance cartridges fill up too fast??
I really would like to know. If someone has any answers, I would prefer it be from experience with a professional or an actual professional. Actually, the best I could ask for is if the response would be POLITE. It costs nothing to be nice & if we've made it to the "community" section, odds are we're already having a bad day 🙄
I bought these megatank printers because of the ink cost and, yes, the ink lasts long. However, when a printer consistently breaks down before the year mark and it costs more to fix than replace, why is Canon still making them like this?? I have to assume this is all old stock by now, but this is very bad for the consumer.
Thanks in advance for any help ❤️
