I got a message this morning saying that there was a new firmware version available on the server. I used the menus to apply it. The update failed and it told me to hit the "on" button. I did so, and now the LED just blinks and none of the buttons do anything.

I also experienced a similar issue with the firmware update for printer model G6020 on 02-12-2023. After acknowledging to start the update on the printer screen, it shortly started flashing with error code 6800. Unplugging the power cable for several minutes to reset it, as the manual and other posts recommend, does not work.

After calling Canon support, it was indicated that performing the firmware update caused a hardware issue, and the printer will need to be replaced since it is out of warranty. My recommendation for others is if your G6020 works fine, please don't apply the update.
