Error with setting up printer to MacBook Air computer

Mksalinas

I have a MG 2522 canon printer which I have had for some years and I have a MacBook Air which I recently updated to the latest software update.
i tried to connect my Printer to my computer and downloaded the printer driver and software but when I tried to finish setting up my printer to my computer I receive an error message which states” setup needs to be updated…the developer of this app need to update to work with this version of macOS. Contact the developer for more information.” Can anyone please help?

Welcome to the forum.

If you go to this site: Support | MG Series | PIXMA MG2522 | Canon USA

and download this driver: Screenshot 2022-05-23 141711.jpg

you should be able to install the printer in System Preferences->Printers & Scanners

Click the "+" button to add the printer and wait for the Canon IJ Series version of the printer to show up. Do not select the Bonjour or AirPrint version.
