Error..."There is no paper in the rear tray" Support Code 1000. Pixma TS9120

I know there's no paper in the rear tray.

The rear flap is closed, and I'm trying to print to the cassette.  I even explicitly set the printer properties to print from the cassette. But for some wrong reason, it wants to print from the rear tray. Net result being...I can't print.

Tried turning printer off/on. Any ideas on how to change its mind?

I have this precise problem. I did print from the rear tray at one point but ever since the printer PIXMA TR7020a has insisted on only printing from the rear tray. The tray is empty and closed, I've tried the paper mismatch settings, and every other setting I can find but it still insists on the rear tray. This is keeping me from figuring out why it won't print properly from Chrome. So many problems with this thing.
