Error 306 on Canon MP470

I keep getting Error 306 on my Canon MP470. I am working on a Mac and it stopped printing a few days ago and still not able to print after upgrading to OS X El Captain. I have deleted the printer, reset the printer settings, and added it back in System Preferences. Any other suggestions? Thank you.

The MP470 is only compatible with OS 10.9 and earlier.  Please contact our support group using the "Contact Us" link below for any possible options.

I contacted the support group and they told me that my operating system was no longer supported and there wasn't any plan to update the driver. I reinstalled an earlier version and it worked again!
