Does the MegaTank Pixma G4280 have a user replaceable print head?

Onetime

I'm looking to purchase a new MegaTank printer, and I like the feature set and price point of the PIXMA G4280, but it's not clear if the print head is replaceable.

I see that there is definitely a maintenance cartridge (MC-G07), but none of the print heads in the online shop seem to list G4280 as compatible. Conversely, the support page for the G4280 seems to imply that two different print heads can be used as replacements (BH-20 and CH-20), but neither of those items list the G4280 as a supported printer.

Does anyone know which, if any, print heads can definitely be used as a replacement for the G4280? User-replaceable parts is a required feature for me, and if I can't replace the print head, then I will need to look at other printers.

Hi Onetime,

The PIXMA G4080 series, specifically the PIXMA G4280, does have user-replaceable printheads.

The compatible printheads are the CH-20 and BH-20. This information can be found in the manual.  To view this page, please use this link:

G4080 series > Print Head

You are correct, the printer is not listed as compatible on the sales pages on Canon's web site for those printheads.  Thank you for bringing this up, this omission has been escalated to have this added.

The procedure for replacing either or both of the printheads can be found in the manual here:

G4080 series > Check Installation of Print Head
