09/29/2025: I found a solution to the Windows 11 and Cannon Printer Detection problem.
Yesterday I received my new HP laptop with windows 11 home edition. I have a Cannon G3070 series printer. During the setup of the new laptop I tried multiple times to get windows to detect the printer and to print - it would not. During different attempts, windows 11 would switch between not detecting my Wi-Fi connected printer, or at times it would see it, then report it as off line. I have another computer running windows 10 and that unit was having no problem detecting the printer and successfully printing. Obviously the problem was with windows 11, or so I thought. Today, after receiving all of the Windows updates, and after downloading and installing all of the latest Cannon printer drivers, the result was the same. So I went to AI and asked for a solution. The suggestion was to turn off all of the McAfee Security, which I did, but to no avail. Then it suggested turning off a feature of Windows Defender, which I also did and still, the problem remained. Out of great frustration, I decided to uninstalled McAfee, and turned windows defender completely off, and also removed SmartScreen. I installed an alternate firewall (Tinywall) and virus protection (Avira) then went to settings and asked windows to scan for the printer. To my delight, my wi-fi connected printer was found immediately and printing was successful. Don't know if this is the best solution for everyone, but, it solved the problem for me. Thought I'd pass it along.
