I have a Canon MP-970 inkjet printer. Purchased around 2012, rarely used. For the past six months, the printer has not been used at all due to a temporary departure. Windows 10x64 system, USB connection. Seven cartridges, always used only Canon-branded. Since the printer is old, I have use branded but expired cartridges. As I understand, cartridges for this printer discontinued.
Problem description. When printing images, colors are severely disturbed - they go into greenish colors. Red, brown, yellow turn green when printed. Green and blue remain green and blue.
I tried to treat it: I did the cleaning of the print head (I was dripping it with OCR base fluid for about an hour, the fluid at the end began to pass well and remained colorless) and replaced the old cartridges (pink Magenta and Photo Magenta) with newer ones (although they also expired) . It did not help when printing pictures, although ordinary black and white text files began to be printed in black and white (before that they were gray and white). The problem is both when printing jpg and color doc files.

Hi gedonis,
Because your PIXMA MP970 is not printing correctly even after performing printhead cleanings, your PIXMA MP870 would require service.
You are eligible for Canon's Upgrade Program. This is for out of warranty units which have been diagnosed to require service, or for some reason are incompatible with a new or upgraded system. This option allows you a one-time opportunity to purchase a replacement product, discounted from the list price.
To help you get up and running quickly, we also offer free standard shipping (if the order is completed by 12:30PM ET). If you would like to take part in this option, please call our Sales Department at (866) 443-8002 seven days a week, 8am to Midnight. Let them know you have been working with technical support and the Canon Upgrade Program was offered.
