Charged $700 by Candler Support for help with PIXMA TR4725

Recently my scanner stopped working so I called Canon for support and they referred me to a company called Cantler Support who eventual got my scanner working but charged me over $700 for doing so.  I have checked them out via Google and they are reported having a shady reputation over charging being one of them.  Does anyone know anything more about this matter?

thanks for the advice Rick, I have reported this to my financial people and my account is locked and a new credit card is on the way to me.

I got a phone call from Chandler  Support this morning trying to resolve the situation due to the fact I had alerted the credit card company and reported the fraud.  They claimed my conversation and emails with Cannon were fake and that Chandler Support is  a legit  company who provides services on behalf of Cannon.  Needless to say I terminated the conversation etc. etc.

Did you perform an anti-malware scan? If not I would do so right away.T

This same outfit tried to charge on HP printer owner 2400 dollars for long-term care.

How do they think they can do such a thing for a 100 dollar  printer?

Yes they are idiots however they are costing some people a lot of money for no results whatsoever.  I spoke to one of them this AM and they are located in Georgia.  English was not this persons first language to put it politely.  I Told him to take off and hung up on him then ran the Norton virus scan on my computer.
